Môr not more

Môr Mortgages was so named due to the company director being born and raised alongside the Welsh coastline. The company wanted to acknowledge the 'sea' and its 'Welsh roots' in its culture and identity. The name just felt right. The benefit of the play on words, of 'Môr' 'Mor', when pronounced incorrectly was an additional bonus.

Môr is a welsh word for 'sea' or 'ocean' and for anyone that has had the privilege of growing up by the sea knows - the sea stays with you. It is an important, ever changing presence for those lucky enough to live near it. The sea seeps into your bones and that fresh, salty sea air becomes more than a sum of its parts. While visitors come to the coast for those restorative qualities that the sea and sea air provide, those brought up with it subconsciously migrate to it every chance they get. 

Wales has a very proud and long reaching maritime history and a captivating, wild, intriguing coastline that has been woven with mystique and legend. It's seas at 32,000km² are much larger than Wales' land mass of 20,375km². The coastline is vibrant with marine mammals, fish, birdlife and surfers.
